Convert between all the common picture formats. Change WebP to JPG for apps that do not support it, turn an iPhone HEIC photo into a JPG, save a logo as a multi-size ICO for a favicon, make a TIFF for print or reduce a heavy BMP. Set the quality for JPG, WebP and AVIF, choose the background colour for transparent areas and limit the width. For a bulk job use Convert image, and to shrink files use the Image Compressor.
Photoshop PSD and Illustrator AI files
Open a PSD and save it as PNG, JPG, WebP, PDF or any other image format, or export every layer as its own PNG in a ZIP. Turn a PNG or JPG into a PSD with the picture on a layer, ready to open in Photoshop. AI files that were saved with PDF compatibility, which is the Illustrator default, can be saved as PNG, JPG, PDF and more. When you convert a picture to AI or SVG, the picture is embedded. It is not traced into editable vector paths.
PDF, Word, HTML, Markdown and text
Turn PDF pages into images, or pull the text of a PDF into TXT, Word, HTML or Markdown. Turn Word, HTML, Markdown or text files into PDF. The PDF keeps headings, lists, tables and pictures and displays Hindi and other languages correctly. Choose "Selectable text" if you prefer a simple PDF with real text. To work on PDF files themselves, use the PDF Editor, Merge PDF or Compress PDF.
Excel, CSV and JSON
Convert XLSX, XLS, ODS, CSV, TSV and JSON into each other, or turn a sheet into HTML, Markdown or PDF. The separator of a CSV is detected for you and UTF-8 text such as Hindi is handled correctly. A workbook with many sheets produces one CSV for each sheet in a ZIP.
Audio and video
Convert MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC and AAC audio to MP3 or WAV. Take the sound out of a video as MP3 or WAV, make a short animated GIF from the first seconds of a video or save a still picture from any moment. Video files are read by your browser, so they must be in a format your browser can play.
What this converter does not do
We would rather say it clearly than promise everything. Pictures are not traced into vectors, so PNG to SVG and PNG to AI embed the picture. PDF to Word extracts text but not page layout. Scanned PDFs have no text to extract. PSB, old DOC and PPT files, archives and video-to-video conversions such as MP4 to AVI are not supported. Animated GIFs convert as their first frame.

Which file types can I convert?

How does the converter know what my file is?
It reads the first bytes of the file, which identify the real format, and uses the file extension only when that is not enough. A PNG that was renamed .jpg is still handled as a PNG.
Can I convert PSD to PNG or JPG?
Yes. Add the PSD, choose PNG or JPG and press Convert. You can also export every layer as a separate PNG. See the PSD to PNG page for details.
Can I convert an image to PSD or AI?
Yes. The PSD has your picture on one layer. The AI file is an Illustrator-compatible file with your picture placed inside it. Neither is traced into editable vector shapes.
Can I convert PDF to Word?
Yes. The text of the PDF is extracted into a Word document. Page layout, tables and pictures are not carried over, and scanned PDFs have no text to extract. See PDF to DOCX.
Can I convert many files at once?
Yes. Add several files, choose a format for each (or one format for all) and press Convert. Download each result or all of them in a ZIP.
Why did my video not convert?
Videos are read by your browser, so it has to be able to play the file. Chrome, Edge and Safari play most MP4, MOV and WebM files, but a few codecs are not supported. You can still try extracting the sound.
Is there a size limit?
We do not set one. Very large files depend on the memory of your device, so use a desktop or laptop for big PSD, TIFF or video files.
Is this tool really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no daily limit and no watermark.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The tool runs in your browser, so your files stay on your device.
